1. Publisher identity

This Privacy Policy applies to the Neo Scan mobile application, published by Soft Evolution, and to the public pages associated with it.

2. Scope and third-party services

Neo Scan provides access to content, images, feeds and services supplied by third-party sources. Those third parties may process certain technical data under their own responsibility and according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Soft Evolution does not control the privacy practices, availability, accuracy, legality or content of third-party services accessible from the app. Users should review the policies of any external services they choose to use.

3. Categories of data that may be processed

Depending on the features used and the effective production configuration, Neo Scan may process or expose the following categories of data.

Soft Evolution does not sell the personal data it directly processes as part of the standard operation of the application.

• Local preferences: theme, language, reading mode, display order and download settings.
• On-device data: favorites, recents, reading progress and downloaded chapters.
• Local session data if a login feature is enabled in the version of the app being used.
• Technical data required for app operation, such as IP address, device information, network status or error logs.
• Advertising and measurement data if monetization is enabled, including through Google AdMob or equivalent technical partners.

4. Purposes of processing

• Provide search, browsing and reading of the content requested by the user.
• Enable offline downloads, their tracking and resume features.
• Store user preferences, favorites, recents and reading progress.
• Ensure technical security, diagnose incidents and prevent abuse.
• Display, limit or measure advertising when an ad solution is enabled.
• Respond to support, privacy and data deletion requests.

5. Permissions and device access

Neo Scan may request Android permissions that are strictly necessary for its visible features. The permissions actually requested may vary depending on the Android version and the published app version.

• INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE to load remote content.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS to inform users about downloads.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC for active downloads.
• Storage / media permissions when required to save or manage offline chapters.

6. Third-party services and sharing

When third-party services are used, certain technical data may be communicated to those providers to the extent required to deliver the service, display content or serve advertising.

Soft Evolution is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party providers or for processing carried out outside its direct control.

• Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for advertising.
• Remote manga content API for lists, search and chapters.
• Image CDNs or hosts used for pages and covers.

7. Retention, deletion and accounts

Neo Scan functional data is primarily stored locally on the user's device and remains there until it is removed by the user, app storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled.

Messages sent to support or to the publisher may be retained for the period reasonably necessary to handle the request, secure the service, prevent abuse, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations.

As of the last update date of this policy, Soft Evolution does not operate a general publisher-managed server-side account for the standard use of Neo Scan. If a publisher-managed account feature is added later, this policy and the related deletion procedure will be updated before rollout.

8. Security

Soft Evolution implements reasonable technical and organizational measures to limit unauthorized access, loss, alteration or misuse of data it directly processes.

However, no internet transmission, local storage or third-party service can guarantee absolute security. Users acknowledge that a residual risk exists when using digital services and remote content.

9. Your rights and choices

• Delete local data by clearing app storage or removing downloaded content.
• Disable or limit Android permissions from system settings.
• Contact the publisher with any privacy, access, correction or deletion request where applicable.
• Provide sufficient information to allow reasonable request handling and legitimacy checks.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated at any time to reflect changes in the app, its third-party services, Google Play requirements or applicable legal obligations.
